Lawyer demands to review the actions of the deputy prosecutor in the drug-ranch case

They reveal key details about the chain of omissions in the Teuchitlán drug ranch case.

A call for justice with transparency

In a case that has shaken Jalisco, lawyer Cecilia Isabel Ayala Dávalos raises her voice to demand that the investigation into the omissions at the Izaguirre ranch—an alleged criminal recruitment center—begin from the highest levels. Why point out the forensic experts first if it was the higher authorities who failed to coordinate the actions?

The pieces that don’t fit

Four experts from the Jalisciense Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF) and eight agents from the Prosecutor’s Office face accusations of negligence, but the defense reveals compelling data: the specialists only had five hours to inspect a large property, they acted under orders from the Public Ministry and delivered a plan that was never executed. “They worked as far as humanly possible”, emphasizes Ayala Dávalos.

RelatedForensic experts in limbo due to a hearing that no one wants to hold

The focus should be on Deputy Prosecutor Blanca Trujillo, responsible for coordinating intervention in cases of missing persons. Internal documents—such as the “Operational Deployment” report—confirm that the authorities were aware that the processing of the site was not completed, but no one followed up. Where was the due diligence?

Neglect that hurts victims

The discovery of bone remains and clothing in March 2025—six months after the site was discovered—evidence an institutional failure. As anti-corruption prosecutor Gerardo Ignacio de la Cruz points out: “Some evidence was lost… violating fundamental rights”. The question is inevitable: Was there political will to resolve this case?

While the hearing against those involved is postponed, the lawyer insists: “The stairs are swept from top to bottom”. Demanding accounts from experts without analyzing the role of their superiors distorts the truth. This case is not only about omissions, but about selective justice.

Mexican economy: achievements in employment and minimum wage

President Claudia Sheinbaum presented 12 indicators that reflect economic advances under the model of Mexican Humanism. He highlighted the responsible administration of spending, the recovery of the minimum wage and the impact of the Wellbeing Programs.

In labor matters, the minimum monthly wage went from 2,800 pesos in 2018 to more than 9,400 pesos in 2026, an increase of 122% endorsed by the OECD.

The director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, reported that at the end of June 2026, 22 million 779 thousand 704 formal jobs were registered, a historical record. The base contribution salary reached 669.1 pesos per day, also unprecedented. Mexico achieved the second lowest unemployment rate among OECD members, at 2.7%, only behind Japan.

In the financial field, the Secretary of the Treasury, Édgar Amador Zamora, pointed out that Mexico entered the top 10 in the world for attracting Foreign Direct Investment with 41 billion dollars captured. Bilateral trade with the United States totaled 839 billion dollars, maintaining Mexico as its main partner. Global exports reached 723 billion dollars.

The report also showed an annual growth of 5.9% in fixed investment as of April 2026 and a 2.1% increase in private consumption. Inflation fell to 3.6%, its lowest level in eight months.

Federal authorities attributed these results to a greater distribution of wealth. They highlighted that 13.5 million people escaped poverty, reducing inequality gaps.

Gilda N is linked to the process for money laundering

54 evidence presented against Gilda N for illicit deposits from abroad.

Link to process for illicit operations

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) managed to link Gilda “N” to the process for operations with resources of illicit origin. The evidentiary data presented was sufficient to prove his probable participation in the crime.

The accusation focuses on deposits made from abroad that, according to the investigation, came from an illicit origin.

54 test data presented

During the initial hearing, the Public Ministry of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Competition Control (FECOC) presented 54 pieces of evidence and held the technical debate in front of the defense. The control judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center, based in the North Prison of Mexico City, determined the order of connection to the process.

Four months were granted for the complementary investigation and a later date was set to review the precautionary measures.

Link to the Agronitrogenados case

The investigations, supported by the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), link the accused with the corruption scheme of the Agronitrogenados case. Gilda “N” allegedly became a beneficiary of a company through the transfer of rights to Emilio “N”, serving as a possible proxy to hide illicit acts and facilitate the triangulation of resources.

The FGR stressed that, according to the law, the defendant is presumed innocent until a conviction is handed down.
