When the Navy cleans up, but the criminals already had the move ready
Ah, Caborca, that picturesque corner of Sonora where, in addition to desert landscapes, there seems to be a clandestine warehouse for weapons and drugs. This time, the brave elements of the Navy Secretariat, together with the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC), decided to take a tour through the area and, surprise, they met a group of shooting enthusiasts who, instead of offering them a coffee, gave them lead.
According to the official story (which sounds more like a B-movie script), the sailors were on their routine surveillance walks when, from a house, some kind neighbors shot at them. Response from the uniformed officers? Repel aggression, which in colloquial language means: “we shot back and they ran away as if they had seen a ghost”. Of course, they left behind a loot worthy of a drug bazaar.
The inventory of what was seized: gun shop or illegal convenience store?
After the exciting chase (which, by the way, ended in no arrests, because why complicate life?), the sailors searched the house and found:
- Three long weapons (in case one was not enough).
- A grenade launcher (because, of course, in Caborca even traffic arguments can escalate quickly).
- 20 magazines and 333 cartridges (to make sure you don’t come up short in the next shootout).
- Two tactical vests (because ballistic fashion is a trend).
- 16 marijuana wrappers (or something similar, because who is going to check carefully in the middle of the chaos?).
- A bag of seeds (for entrepreneurs who want to start their own cultivation).
All of this was handed over to the corresponding authorities, who will surely wonder: “At what point did Caborca become the set of Breaking Bad: Sonora Edition?”.
The Navy, as always, reiterated its commitment to the fight against organized crime (although the criminals, for their part, reiterated their commitment to flee and hide). Of course, they promised to continue working with the three levels of government, because, apparently, national security is a team effort… although the rival team still does not appear on the field.
Moral? If you go to Caborca, wear a bulletproof vest… or better yet, stay home and watch Netflix.
