Liga MX continues its path in the Concachampions
This Wednesday, the action continues. And it is the turn of two heavyweights of Mexican soccer: Rayados de Monterrey and Cruz Azul. Both make their debut in the Concacaf Champions Cup with a clear mission: to add.
Yesterday was a mixed day for the Mexican teams. América achieved an important victory in Honduras (2-1), Tigres drew a goalless draw, but Pumas suffered a severe setback when they fell 4-1 against San Diego FC.
That defeat by Pumas is a reminder. In these cups, there is no small rival. Concentration must be total from the first minute.
Today, the protagonists change. Rayados visits the Xelajú MC in Guatemala (7:00 p.m.). Cruz Azul, for its part, faces Vancouver FC in Canada (9:00 p.m.). Both games air on FOX One and FOX+.
The mood before the jump
The two arrive with different feelings after their start in Clausura 2026. Monterrey drew 2-2 with Xolos at home, a result that left more questions than answers. Cruz Azul, on the other hand, is coming off an exciting 3-4 victory against FC Juárez.
But the local tournament is one thing. The international cup is another planet. Here mentality and the ability to adapt to adverse conditions, such as playing away from home, are measured.
The reward for advancing is enormous: if they win this First Round, Rayados and Cruz Azul would meet in the Round of 16. It would be a spectacular duel between two giants of Mexico.
The message for today is simple: learn from the good (America) and the bad (Pumas). The talent is there. Now it’s time to demonstrate the mental strength that separates good teams from great champions.
Let’s hit it!
