When heads talk (and the rest of the body isn’t even there to tell the tale)
Ah, Mexico, that country where messages are not sent via WhatsApp, but in plastic bags with human remains. This time, the “postman” left three heads on a cruise ship in Cuajinicuilapa, Guerrero, as if they were the sad prize of a macabre fair. The bodies, of course, were at home, next to the octogenarian mother, because why waste dramatic material? The murderers, in a fit of criminal creativity, set fire to the house to ensure that the message got through… although no one knows exactly what it said. Mysteries of violent communication!
Elections, ranchers and bullets: Guerrero’s toxic trio
Meanwhile, on the same Saturday of horrors, Armando Añorve, cattle leader, received more leads than votes near the center of town. The crime? Possibly aspire to run the local livestock association, a position as dangerous as being a referee in hell. And if there was no drama, on Friday they had killed Commissioner Ángel Medel, because in Guerrero weekends are not for resting, but for accumulating bodies.
Abel Barrera, from the Tlachinollan center, gives us the pearl of the day: “Cuajinicuilapa is no longer from the PRD, now it is from Los Rusos”. Ah, Mexican politics! Where before there were rallies, now there are shootings; Where there were campaigns, now there are reckonings. The new mayor, Hildeberto Salinas, lasted less in office than an ice cream in the desert: one month and bam! He asked for leave due to death threats. Who said public administration wasn’t exciting?
And while the children of Cuaji don’t go to school (because, between bullets and fires, what difference does it make), the narcos play at being owners of the territory. This week they seized 4 tons of cocaine on the coast, because in Guerrero the only export product that never fails is tragedy.
Are you outraged? Share this story and let the world know how life is played on the Costa Chica. Or better yet: explore more about the hell that others call “Guerrero”. Of course, preferably from the safety of your screen.
