Zahara Jolie takes a legal step to leave the Pitt surname behind
Zahara, one of the daughters that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have in common, has filed a request with the Los Angeles Superior Court to officially eliminate her paternal surname. According to information from TMZ, the young woman is seeking her legal name to be Zahara Marley Jolie.
The documents do not explain the reasons behind the request. However, the decision does not surprise those who follow the family dynamics closely. For years, Zahara avoided publicly using the last name Pitt and communication with her father would be practically non-existent, according to reports from the magazine In Touch.
The procedure occurs shortly after Zahara concluded her university studies. Sources indicated that Brad Pitt did not attend the graduation ceremony nor was he invited to the event.
Those close to the actor told the American portal that the distancing is attributed to the influence of Angelina Jolie after the couple’s separation. From that perspective, they regret that family conflicts have affected the bond between Pitt and several of his children.
This legal movement reinforces a separation that was already reflected in the family’s daily life. Zahara is not the only one who has distanced herself from the Pitt surname; Other children have also chosen to keep only their mother’s surname on different occasions.
