Prosecutor’s Office investigates more aggravating factors in the case of human trafficking in Jalisco

The authorities are deepening the investigation to discover possible new aggravating factors and victims in a case of exploitation.

Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office expands investigation into human trafficking

The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out an exhaustive investigation to determine if there are more aggravating factors and possible victims linked to producer Alejandro “N”, detained for alleged crimes of human trafficking in the form of sexual exploitation. The authorities have indicated that, so far, they only have one complaint filed by relatives of a 16-year-old teenager, but they do not rule out that there are more victims.

In-depth investigation

Salvador González de los Santos, Attorney General of the State, explained that the prosecuted case includes an aggravating circumstance related to foreign prostitution, but he announced that a complementary stage of investigation will be carried out to corroborate other possible criminal conduct. “We are going to continue investigating whether there are more aggravating circumstances or victims,” said the official, highlighting the importance of reliably proving the charges.

In addition, the authorities will analyze the work environment of the detainee, who is dedicated to the production of adult content, to identify if other people could be affected. “If we receive more complaints, we will act immediately,” said the prosecutor, calling on possible victims or witnesses to present their testimony.

Prior legal process

The case is not new for the judicial system. Alejandro “N” already had a suspended process since 2024, under the figure of conditional suspension, which will be reactivated within the framework of this new investigation. According to authorities, at that time he was also involved with a minor, although it was an allegedly consensual act.

The authorities reiterated their commitment to justice and the protection of victims, ensuring that they will not allow impunity in cases of human exploitation. This case has generated alert in society and reinforces the need for more effective mechanisms to combat these crimes.

Venezuelans turn to social networks to find missing people after earthquakes

Earthquakes in Venezuela: families use networks to locate missing people due to the lack of official data.

Social networks have become a key tool in the search for missing people after the two earthquakes that shook Venezuela on Wednesday night. Given the lack of official information and communication failures, families inside and outside the country have turned to digital platforms to disseminate photos, data and alerts.

Earthquakes and emergency

The earthquakes, of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, left hundreds dead and thousands injured, in addition to widespread damage in regions such as La Guaira and areas near Caracas. Authorities warn that the number of victims could increase as rescue efforts continue through the rubble.

Disinformation crisis

Independent online registries report tens of thousands of people unaccounted for, a figure far higher than official counts. Families of Venezuelans living abroad have shared the uncertainty of not being able to contact their loved ones due to the interruption of basic services and limited connectivity.

International organizations, including the UN human rights mission in Venezuela, have called for restoring access to social media and messaging platforms. They point out that timely information is crucial in disasters, as it can facilitate rescues and the location of people.

Meanwhile, thousands of Venezuelan migrants in countries such as Mexico, Spain, Chile and Brazil are experiencing the anguish of not knowing the status of their relatives. Distance has turned tragedy into an uncertain wait, where the only tool available is the constant dissemination of messages on networks in the hope of obtaining a response.
