Context of the case
Jesús Armando Orozco Arriaga, father of two minors who died after consuming contaminated food, has denounced irregularities in the investigation led by the Nuevo León Prosecutor’s Office. According to his testimony, the case file was poorly integrated, omitting key bacteriological studies that link the children’s death with the ingestion of poor chicken.
Investigation details
On May 11, 2024, Azul Vanessa (5 years old) and David Emmanuel (3 years old) died from a bacterial infection, while their father suffered serious poisoning. Initially, the authorities attributed the incident to Chinese food, but Orozco Arriaga presented private laboratory results that confirmed the presence of Salmonella, Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli in samples of the Pollo Matón consumed.
The father pointed out that the prosecutor Edga María Hernández Navarro deliberately excluded this evidence and pressured the family to accept compensation of 400 thousand pesos from the company involved. In addition, he highlighted inconsistencies in the death certificate, which attributed death to dehydration instead of sepsis, contradicting scientific findings.
Legal and health implications
This case exposes critical flaws in food safety protocols and the transparency of criminal investigations. Orozco Arriaga emphasized that his fight seeks justice and the rectification of official records to honor the memory of his children.
