Farewell to an era of rock and roll
Enrique Guzmán appeared radiant at the conference where “The Last Rock and Roll Caravan” was announced. The change in his attitude is notable. The secret? He learned to live happily.
“I learned to respond to people with joy. It was so difficult for me to get to know me… That’s why I stop to say hello and tell them, ‘I’m as happy as you are'”
His smile multiplied when he was surrounded by friends: Roberto Jordan, Los Teen Tops, Los Locos del Ritmo and more. The only one absent was Angélica María, but everyone will meet on March 28 at the National Auditorium.
Why is it the last one?
Producer Sergio Gabriel explained it bluntly. Assembling this cast is increasingly complicated due to the age of the artists. If it takes another decade to organize it again, many would be close to 94 years old.
“Everyone has their own agenda,” Gabriel added about the logistical difficulty.
The concert promises to be a journey through time with around 70 songs from the 60s and 70s. There will be solo moments and special collaborations with surprise guests.
“We are going to sing everything, there will be rock and roll until they get tired,” Guzmán promised between laughs.
Regarding a possible duet with his daughter Alejandra Guzmán, he was clear: “It is something very complicated.” Their styles are different – she’s a rocker, he’s a rocker. First the priorities: say goodbye to this caravan properly.
