Emilio Lozoya’s sister arrested for money laundering

Sister of Emilio Lozoya arrested for alleged money laundering.

Detention at the AICM

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) executed an arrest warrant against Gilda Susana Lozoya Austin, sister of the former director of Pemex, Emilio Lozoya. The arrest occurred near the Mexico City International Airport, in a joint operation by the Criminal Investigation Agency, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection and the Secretariat of the Navy.

The accusation links her to the Agronitrogenados case. According to the FGR, he participated in operations with resources of illicit origin by benefiting from a company to which his brother transferred rights.

Millionaire transfers

The investigations indicate that Gilda Susana was a beneficiary of the firm “Tochos Holding Limited.” Between June and November 2012, he received five bank transfers for millions of dollars, coming from a company owned by Alonso Ancira Elizondo, owner of Altos Hornos de México. He then transferred a smaller amount to another person.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of a federal judge, who will define her legal situation. The FGR continues the investigations into the Agronitrogenados case, one of the largest corruption scandals linked to Pemex.

Sheinbaum provides bank cards to Michoacan students as part of educational scholarships.

Tour through Pátzcuaro

President Claudia Sheinbaum visited the municipality of Pátzcuaro to deliver cards from the Banco del Bienestar. The plastics correspond to the “Rita Cetina” and “Gertrudis Bocanegra” scholarships, intended for students from Michoacán.

On her social networks, the president recalled that education is a fundamental right that promotes social equality.

“It makes it possible for the place where we are born not to determine the place we can reach,” he said.

He also stressed that access to classrooms should not be seen as a privilege, supporting the ideal of José María Morelos y Pavón: education should be the same for the son of a landowner as for that of a laborer.

Details of the Gertrudis Bocanegra program

The “Gertrudis Bocanegra” program is part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice. Provides financial support for transportation to all students enrolled in higher-level public institutions in the entity.

During the event, Sheinbaum gave the plastics to the students Valentina Leyva Fabián, Héctor Manuel Menchaca Rodríguez and Diana Elizabeth Orozco Arias.

Official accompaniment

84 thousand fake cigarettes from Belgium seized in the AIFA without arrests.

Assurance at AIFA

Elements of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) and the Secretariat of National Defense seized 84,000 allegedly apocryphal cigarettes at the Customs Office of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). The shipment came from Belgium. There were no arrests.

The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) explained that the detection was the result of documentary and operational review processes, with the support of strategic analysis tools, risk profiles and customs surveillance. The seizure is part of permanent customs intelligence actions to strengthen control in foreign trade.

This is not an isolated case. On June 10, ANAM and the Navy intercepted one million 200 thousand cigarettes from Taiwan at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM). According to Navy data, between September 2025 and January 2026, more than 88 tons of apocryphal cigarettes have been seized in that same terminal.

The authorities reiterated their commitment to national security and the prevention of illicit conduct in foreign trade.

Ochoa condemns tragedy in El Tri celebrations: “We must take care of ourselves”

Four died from asphyxiation during the El Tri celebrations. Ochoa asks for awareness.

The Mexican National Team keeps the country on the edge of its seat. Since June 11, Javier Aguirre’s team has four victories in the 2026 World Cup. Each victory has increased the euphoria in the streets. However, last Tuesday, June 30, the celebrations left a tragic balance in the capital.

Four deaths from asphyxiation

More than a million people took to the streets of Mexico City to celebrate El Tri’s passage to the round of 16. In the midst of the crowd, four deaths were recorded due to asphyxiation. Authorities have not provided additional details about the victims.

After hearing the news, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa called on the fans.

“We already knew what happened the other day. I send my condolences to the families. Among Mexicans we must take care of ourselves and be aware. We know that soccer moves a lot and I hope tomorrow it can be repeated, but let us celebrate by taking care of ourselves, with joy, in peace, taking care of the streets and monuments. It is everyone’s responsibility,” he declared.

Ochoa asked that support not wane. Against England tomorrow, expect to see the same intensity at the Azteca Stadium and in Guadalajara.

“Ask people to continue as they are going because their drive can be felt on the field. That extra thing that motivates us. The people who are outside, those who gather to watch the game, everyone, but that we also take care of ourselves,” he emphasized.

The goalkeeper insisted that joy should not become risk. The fans respond, but collective security is at stake.
