The success of the Mexican team at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games
The Mexican sport shooting team shone at the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games by winning three silver medals, an achievement that features coach Óscar Guillermo Taubig, whose strategy and leadership were key to this outstanding performance.
Mexican athletes stand out in pistol and air rifle
Sofía Ibarra emerged as the most prominent figure by obtaining two medals: one in the individual modality and another in a mixed team with Erick Ruiz, in the 10-meter air pistol discipline. For their part, Hanna Cisneros and Josué Rodríguez also reached the podium with silver in air rifle, consolidating the talent of the tricolor team.
“Success is based on the persistence and character of athletes,” Taubig said. “We work on technique, psychology and values so that they trust in their potential and celebrate each achievement,” added the coach, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive approach in the preparation of young people.
The dreamer spirit as the key to high performance
According to Taubig, the main virtue of these athletes is their dreamer mentality, which allows them to believe in their abilities regardless of the obstacles. “The young people maintain a positive and committed attitude, without looking for excuses to miss training,” he explained. This philosophy has been fundamental for their performance in international competitions.
In addition, the support between colleagues from the stands of the Shooting Range reinforced the cohesion of the team, demonstrating that group work is just as important as individual performance.
This success not only consolidates Mexico as an emerging power in sports shooting, but also lays the foundation for future generations of athletes willing to compete at the highest level.
