A dream wedding in Sicily
Villa Valguarnera, in Bagheria, was the setting for the wedding between Dua Lipa and Callum Turner. Built in the 18th century, this residence is known as the “little Versailles”. Surrounded by gardens with sea views, it has been the location of the series “The Leopard” on Netflix.
The ceremony took place on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. According to Vanity Fair Italia, the couple renewed their vows in the villa’s gazebo. Elton John performed “Your Song” during the event.
The banquet was organized by chef Tony Lo Coco, from the Michelin-starred restaurant I Pupi. The nearly 300 guests tasted Sicilian specialties such as panelle, crocché, cannoli and cassata.
To liven up the party, David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Carl Cox appeared. Privacy was key: workers and suppliers signed confidentiality agreements, and recording or taking photos was prohibited.
Among those in attendance were Donatella Versace, Charli XCX, Olivia Dean, Joe Alwyn, and the singer’s sister and father, Rina and Dukagjin Lipa.
The festivities will conclude this Sunday. Italy was not a casual choice: in Palermo, the couple spent several days last summer, an experience they shared on social networks.
