The roads to Budapest are laid out!
This Wednesday the curtain closed on the round of 16 and we already have the map for the quarterfinals. The excitement does not let up: the first legs will be on April 7 and 8, and the second legs on the 14 and 15 of the same month.
There were no major surprises in the return, to be honest. The results of the first leg were too strong. Although some tried, destiny was almost written.
Results that spoke for themselves
Barcelona taught Newcastle a lesson at the Camp Nou. A historic 7-2 that left a devastating 8-3 overall. It was a clear message for everyone.
In England, Liverpool also showed their power. A 4-0 against Galatasaray ended the Turkish dream. The ‘Reds’ are hungry.
Tottenham tried against Atlético, but the damage from the first leg was great. They lost 3-2 at home, but the aggregate score of 7-5 favored the colchoneros, who are still in the fight.
In Germany, Bayern Munich hit the table. He confirmed himself as a serious candidate to take everything, although he has a huge obstacle ahead of him.
Bayern are emerging as candidates, but first they must beat Real Madrid in what will undoubtedly be the most attractive match.
The duels that keep us awake
And there it is. The star crossover: Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich. A continental classic that always gives war. It promises to be an epic battle.
But it is not the only Spanish crossfire. Atlético and Barcelona will meet again, just after their exciting duel in the Copa del Rey. The rivalry is still alive.
The rest of the table is completed by:
- Arsenal vs Sporting de Portugal: The English are favorites, but be careful with the Portuguese.
- PSG vs Liverpool: A duel of giants with very different styles. Pure spectacle guaranteed.
The final stretch towards the final in Budapest has already begun. Discipline, mentality and that extra point in decisive moments will make the difference. This is what a real competitor experiences.
