Duel in Miami for first place
This Saturday, Colombia and Portugal will face each other at Miami Stadium. The match promises a great atmosphere and defines the leadership of Group K in the World Cup.
Colombia adds six points after beating Uzbekistan (3-1) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (1-0). He arrives as the leader with a better goal difference than his rival.
Portugal has four units: they tied 1-1 with the African team and beat Uzbekistan 5-0. They need to win to stay in first place. A draw is enough for Colombia.
“It is important to secure first place because the combinations of rivals in the round of 32 and round of 8 vary between a more accessible path or a very complicated one,” declared coach Néstor Lorenzo.
The leader of Group K will face one of the best third positions in groups D, E, I, J or L in the round of 32. The second classified will face the second in Group L, made up of England, Croatia, Ghana and Panama.
Both teams are already classified for the next phase, but tonight the order is defined. In addition, the match marks the reunion of James Rodríguez and Cristiano Ronaldo, former teammates at Real Madrid.
