The National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) denounced that the federal government prioritizes retirement fund administrators, while ignoring their main demand: repeal the ISSSTE Law of 2007.
They demand a return to the previous scheme
During a conference, Pedro Hernández Morales, secretary general of section 9, pointed out that president Claudia Sheinbaum and the director of ISSSTE, Martí Batres, have not responded to the teachers’ demands. Instead, he said, they protect the Afores.
The leader questioned the proposal to transfer individual accounts to PensionISSSTE, considering that it does not solve the underlying problem. The demand, he stated, is to return to the transitory tenth scheme of the law.
Mobilizations and rejection of links with explosives
Members of section 22 carried out new protests due to the lack of dialogue. The CNTE carried out a mobilization in Mexico City with teachers from several states.
Hernández Morales rejected that the 59 explosive devices seized from Ayotzinapa students belonged to the Coordinator and asked to investigate their origin. The organization maintains pressure to change the retirement system.
