Charlize Theron and speculation on networks
The 50-year-old actress attended the Paris premiere of The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s new film. A floral Christian Dior dress made headlines… but not just because of the design. Users on X commented on her figure and, without evidence, suggested the use of Ozempic, a medication associated with weight loss.
“Ozempic has another villain,” wrote one user. Others described her as “unrecognizable.”
However, there were also defenders. “The Internet sees a thinner celebrity and immediately shouts ‘Ozempic,'” one netizen noted. The Daily Mail contacted Theron’s representatives, but did not receive a response until closing time.
The actress herself has spoken before about her routine. In 2017, she told Red that she consumes juices, kale and green salads daily, in addition to sleeping well and avoiding alcohol. In 2007, she explained to Elle UK that she seeks balance and allows herself occasional indulgences. By 2018, according to Harper’s Bazaar, she had become a fan of Pilates and was eating a diet based on raw vegetables.
While the debate continues, Theron is getting ready to play the goddess Calypso in The Odyssey. The film, starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong’o, will hit theaters on July 17.
