The Monterrey venue in the World Cup sights
The BBVA Stadium, in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, appears on the map of possible venues for the 2026 World Cup. With natural grass and a 105 x 68 meter field, it meets FIFA standards.
Its capacity registers two figures: 53,500 spectators in the official record and 51,348 in the structured data. There is no public explanation for that difference.
Known as “The Steel Giant”, the building opened on August 2, 2015. Construction began on September 8, 2008 and cost $200 million.
