The ghost of Michael Jackson speaks again
A new documentary is about to reopen one of pop culture’s deepest wounds. It’s called The Trial and it promises to go beyond the media circus that we all remember.
What you have in your hands are never before heard recordings of Michael himself. And believe me, they are not comfortable at all.
“Children fell in love with my personality and wanted to touch me and hug me, and this sometimes got me into trouble”
That is one of the phrases that sounds in the trailer. The same idea repeats itself: “Children… just want to touch me and hug me. Sometimes I get into trouble.”
But there is another statement, reported by the New York Post, that is downright chilling.
“If they told me now… ‘Michael, you will never be able to see another child’… it would kill me”
Context matters
The Trial is a four-episode series produced by Wonderhood Studios in the United Kingdom. Its stated goal is to explore Jackson’s 2005 acquittal following a 14-week trial.
They say they want to raise serious questions about fame, race and the gringo judicial system. But with these audios on the table, it is difficult not to feel that we are facing another chapter of the same eternal drama.
It premieres this Wednesday, February 4. Get ready for your feed to be filled with hot takes, awkward memes, and endless debates. The legend of the King of Pop continues without rest.
