The actor who doesn’t need a costume to be a hero
While the world is torn between spoilers and memes, Arap Bethke —yes, the one from Games of Love and Power— confirms that real life also has a script… and he follows his to the letter. Although on screen he plays Prosecutor Fury, a ruthless vigilante, off screen his moral code is just as strict. “Do things on the right,” he says, as if living in 2024 wasn’t already enough of a challenge.
From Kenya to Mexico: a drama with a happy ending (or almost)
Born in Kenya but more Mexican than the avocado at brunch, Bethke is in the middle of the naturalization process. He is fluent in four languages (because of course, he has plenty of talent), but he prefers to speak in soap operas. “There are no classic melodramas here,” he clarifies about his series, a crime thriller that explores the threads of power. “It’s fiction,” he insists, although we all know that reality sometimes surpasses television.
Between recordings, the actor also fights ecological battles—because saving the planet is the plot twist that no one expected—and celebrates the success of his series: high rating, third season on the way and a nickname that is already a registered trademark: Fiscal Furia. “I pursue justice,” he warns, and we just hope that he doesn’t review our traffic tickets.
