Alejandra Guzmán apologizes to Frida Sofía for pregnancy rumor

Vivienne, the youngest daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, took a new step in her distancing from the actor. At the age of 18, he filed a request with the Los Angeles Court to legally change his name.

According to court documents published by People magazine, the young woman asks to change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to just Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. On the form, he only noted “personal” as the reason for the change, without elaborating.

The decision is not surprising. Before the procedure, Vivienne already presented herself professionally as Vivienne Jolie. This is how he appeared in the credits of the Broadway musical The Outsiders, which he co-produced with his mother.

The pattern is repeated among the brothers

Vivienne joins her siblings Shiloh, Zahara and Maddox, who have also sought to leave their father’s surname. Shiloh achieved the legal change when she turned 18. Zahara and Maddox are in the process.

None has publicly explained the reasons. However, sources close to the actor cited by TMZ point out that Angelina would have influenced the estrangement between Pitt and his children.

The divorce between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was made official in 2024, after years of legal disputes and more than a decade of marriage.

Writer Patricia Lockwood won the 2024 Gabe Hudson Prize, worth $10,000. The award, named after the late author and editor, recognizes works of fiction with “humor, pathos, and a deep understanding of contemporary America.”

The jury highlighted her novel Will There Ever Be Another You, a dark and comic story about a woman’s crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The phrases and passages dazzle us with beauty or leave us reeling with laughter. There is so much pain in the book and yet there is no self-pity; instead, there is a wonderful self-awareness about how ridiculous it is to be human,” the judges noted.

An award with history

The Hudson was created in 2024 by Sanchia Semere, the writer’s mother, and is managed by the McSweeney’s publishing house. Gabe Hudson, who died in 2023 at age 52, was the author of Dear Mr. President, editor-in-chief of McSweeney’s, and professor at Yonsei University, among other institutions.

Lockwood was already recognized for Priestdaddy, winner of the James Thurber Prize for American Humor in 2018, and for No One Is Talking About This, a Booker finalist in 2021. About the award, she commented:

“He was a truly generous literary citizen, with a rich career: a writer of funny and devastating stories, an inventive novelist, someone who encouraged others. He was a Marine, like my brother, and a teacher in South Korea, in the same neighborhood where my husband grew up.”

Without meeting each other in person, Lockwood felt an immediate kinship with Hudson. The award, still young, is already betting on voices that combine humor and depth in complex times.

Kaylee Hottle, the actress who played Jia in the two installments of Godzilla vs Kong, died at the age of 18 after a traffic accident in Maryland. This was confirmed by his father, Joshua Hottle, during a live broadcast on Tuesday, July 21.

Joshua traveled from Texas—more than 1,300 miles—to pick up his daughter’s body. As he told TMZ, the authorities contacted him before Kaylee lost her life, when she was being taken to the hospital, but she did not survive.

A career marked by inclusion

Kaylee, like her father, was deaf. Much of his family belongs to the deaf community. He debuted at the age of nine in a commercial for a messaging application designed for people with hearing disabilities.

In Godzilla vs Kong (2021 and 2024), she played Jia, a young woman who communicates with the monster through sign language. Her character lived on Skull Island with Dr. Ilene Andrews, played by Rebecca Hall.

In an interview last April with Young Entertainment, Kayelle spoke about the challenges of her role:

“I think the most challenging part is patience, there are so many things that require a lot of patience, there is a lot of waiting and a lot of repetition. I had to realize that it was something I had to accept if I wanted to continue bringing this character to life.”

His departure leaves a void in the industry, where he represented the deaf community with authenticity and talent.
