The curtain of violence opens again in Culiacán
It was not a single act. It was a double feature of terror that left this city, once again, counting its dead. In less than the duration of a theater performance, the lives of two men were snuffed out by bullets.
First act: Los Angeles Subdivision. Several explosions broke up the afternoon. When authorities arrived, they found the scene. A Chevrolet Aveo, riddled. Inside, Uriel Rodrigo ‘N’, 32 years old, already dead.
He was traveling as co-pilot when the unknown people opened fire. His injured companion had to be rushed to the hospital.
Capistrano Street became, once again, the scene of a crime whose motives are still a mystery.
Second act: Colonia La Campiña. Behind a shopping plaza, next to the Tamazula River. There the neighbors made the macabre discovery.
The body of a young man, with multiple bullet wounds. Abandoned. No identification among his clothes. Another name that adds to the list of the NN in this war that is not named.
Two different scenarios. The same death script.
While the authorities begin their investigations – again –, Culiacán breathes that heavy air that is now familiar. That of uncertainty. Knowing that any street, any subdivision, can become the next scenario.
The question that remains floating, heavier than the smoke of gunpowder: When will this function end?
