Zelenskyy breaks the silence: Ukraine is already fighting outside its borders
He said it clearly. For the first time, kyiv admits that its military personnel have participated in real operations in several Middle Eastern countries. The objective: to shoot down Iranian-made Shahed drones.
They are not exercises. It’s not training. They are direct interventions. Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed it and the message is powerful: Ukraine is exporting its war experience.
“These actions were not exercises or training missions, but real interventions to strengthen air defense systems in allied countries,” explained the president.
The logic is crystal clear. They are the same drones that Russia uses massively in Ukrainian territory. By countering them there, kyiv gains knowledge vital to defense here.
A double-edged strategy
Zelenskyy detailed that they used nationally produced interceptor drones, already tested in combat. It is a masterstroke at the diplomatic and military level.
On the one hand, it strengthens ties with allies. On the other hand, it turns Ukraine into a provider of proven war technology on the most intense battlefield in Europe.
But it opens a huge question: how far will the international projection of Ukrainian forces go? The conflict is no longer limited to its borders. The war is globalized, mission by mission.
