FIFA launches the official theme with Jelly Roll and Carín León
This Friday the song that will be played everywhere until 2026 was released. FIFA presented the official anthem for the next World Cup, which will be in the United States, Mexico and Canada. And the bet is… interesting.
They brought together the American Jelly Roll (yes, the country guy with tattoos) with the Mexican Carín León (the thick voice of the regional). The production was done by Cirkut, the Canadian who has worked with Katy Perry and The Weeknd. A transnational trio for a three-way tournament.
A theme about breaking chains (literally)
The three-minute song is basically an anthem of self-improvement. He talks about shaking off the weight and finally feeling free. The letters couldn’t be clearer.
“I’ve never felt so free before… the chains don’t ring anymore. Oh my God, I feel lighter,”
sings Jelly Roll in English, comparing life’s problems to wearing heavy shackles.
Carín León responds in Spanish with that characteristic energy:
“No one, no one knows. What that cost me, no one knows, they said I would end up on the street. Look at me flying, there is no one to let me down.”
It is pure resilience turned into a chorus. The idea of reaching the top against all odds.
Where can you listen to it? On all platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music… full digital deployment from March 20.
But this is just the beginning. FIFA announced that this song is the first chapter of a complete album that they are preparing for what they call “the most inclusive World Cup in history.”
“The Official Album of the FIFA World Cup is not simply a musical accompaniment to the tournament; it is a statement about the future of world football,”
the federation explained.
They promise more fusions of genres and artists from all continents. They want the music to reflect the crazy diversity of a tournament with 48 teams.
Truth be told: mixing country with regional Mexican to unite North America sounds good on paper. Now it’s time to see if the public takes it seriously or if it becomes another sports-musical meme. But as a first movement, it is not without personality.
