Return to the galaxy
Seven years after the last Star Wars film release, the saga returns with The Mandalorian & Grogu. The production, released on May 21, has accumulated around $63 million globally.
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, accompanied by the popular Grogu – better known as Baby Yoda. The film includes surprises in the cast: Jeremy Allen White and filmmaker Martin Scorsese lend their voices to key characters.
Scorsese’s cameo
In the first part of the story, the protagonists arrive at the planet Shakari in search of information. There they meet a four-armed alien merchant and cook of the Ardennian species. The voice of this character is by Martin Scorsese.
The alien guides Din Djarin and Grogu towards Rotta the Hutt, played by Jeremy Allen White. Rotta turns out to be a fundamental piece in the mission.
Plot and context
The story takes place after the fall of the Empire. Din Djarin and Grogu work for the New Republic on a mission: rescue Rotta, son of Jabba the Hutt. They face enemies, betrayals and threats that persist in the galaxy.
The film expands on the events of the Disney+ series and deepens the bond between the Mandalorian and his little companion.
Box office and reception
With $63 million raised, The Mandalorian & Grogu marks the return of the franchise to movie theaters. George Lucas’ fans gathered again to see this new installment, which combines action, nostalgia and unexpected cameos.
