Tamaulipas shoots with golden aim!
The Tamaulipas delegation has just written a golden page in the 2026 National Olympics. 19 medals in archery — a historical record for the state in this discipline. And it was not a coincidence, it was teamwork, discipline and a lot of heart.
How were the medals achieved?
The U-14 women’s team – with Alicia Hernández, Natalia Cruz and Mariana Gatica – won the gold. What a way to open fire. Then, the U-16 composite girls—Valentina Torres, Vania Herrera and Mariam Basilio—added a silver that tastes like glory. In the men’s branch, two bronzes in Under-16 and Under-14 completed the harvest.
“These results are integrated into the accumulated 15 metals previously obtained in the individual rounds,” reported Manuel Virués Lozano, director of the Tamaulipas Sports Institute.
Behind every arrow there are hours of sweat. Coaches Jorge Payán, Clelia Morales and Israel Pulido prepared these athletes in Tampico, Altamira and Ciudad Victoria. And boy did it pay off.
This is not just a number. It is proof that when an entire state believes in its young talent, the results come. Tamaulipas not only competes: it inspires.
