The artist denounces a new incident of insecurity
The renowned singer and soprano Susana Zabaleta used her digital platforms to report a criminal incident that occurred at her residence. The events occurred during the day on Sunday, October 26, when their domestic worker was subjected to extortion by individuals who later entered the property to steal valuable property.
Approximately at noon, the interpreter shared audiovisual material where she showed that she was outside the country. The publication was not intended to show aspects of his vacation, but rather to denounce that he had been a victim of organized crime once again.
The criminal modus operandi
Zabaleta explained that, minutes before making the recording, he received text messages of dubious origin and an unknown sender. She immediately established communication with her domestic assistant, thus discovering the assault on her home that had just occurred.
“As many of you know, I’m not at home, I’m enjoying a vacation, as I always do in October, but about half an hour ago someone strange sent me a message, it seemed strange to me, I spoke on the phone at home and they blackmailed the girl who works in my house to take out all the valuable things,” declared the artist.
The soprano expressed her fatigue at the situation of insecurity that prevails in the national territory, pointing out that this was not the first time she had experienced a criminal act of this nature.
“It’s not the first time it’s happened to me, they’ve broken into my house, they’ve robbed me on the street, they’ve extorted me on the street, it’s happened to me so many times in my life that it seems like you never finish paying and paying and paying and paying, like when you get robbed, you say ‘now’, but this goes on and on,” he explained.
The vocalist warned her community of followers: “Be careful, please. Mexico is not safe, you have to be very careful.”
Evolution of events and emotional support
Hours after the event, from a cultural venue, the singer shared another update on her social networks, showing herself in a better mood. The improvement in her emotional disposition coincided with the arrival of her partner, Ricardo Pérez, who met her at her destination to provide support during this complex episode.
“From a day that dawned incredible and then became a terror, then became a wonder, we came to the opera,” she said while directing her camera towards the face of her boyfriend, who was smiling at Susana from his seat, while she leaned her head on the comedian’s shoulder.
This incident adds to the long list of insecurity cases affecting public figures and ordinary citizens in Mexico, highlighting the vulnerability of properties to crime and the importance of implementing appropriate protection measures, especially during prolonged absences of residents.
Theft by extortion represents a growing criminal modality, where perpetrators identify vulnerabilities in residential security systems and use psychological manipulation tactics to access homes. This particular case illustrates how criminals monitor the movements of their potential victims through their publications on social networks, planning their actions during periods of proven absence.
Susana Zabaleta’s experience serves as a reminder of the importance of establishing security protocols for domestic staff, implementing remote surveillance systems and maintaining discretion over travel plans on digital platforms. The combination of factors such as the geographical location of the property, the frequency of absences and the public visibility of the owner can significantly increase the risk of being targeted by criminal groups.
