Governor Rubén Rocha Moya gave the starting signal today. It wasn’t just any gesture. It was the signal for a massive device of 3 thousand elements, 350 vehicles and 3 helicopters to enter the scene. Their mission: to guard the Mazatlán Carnival 2026 and achieve, once again, a ‘white balance’.
An all-star cast
From the monumental letters on the boardwalk, Rocha Moya watched the contingent leave. But this is not a one-act play. The Secretary of Security, General Óscar Rentería, made it clear that the function will extend for months.
“We want to convey a clear message: you can enjoy Mazatlán with confidence,” said Rentería.
The operation does not end with the Buenos Aires carnival. It will cover 18 regional festivities in February, March and April. The final production will have 12 thousand elements and one thousand vehicles. An unprecedented scenic investment.
The official narrative is impeccable: coordination, institutional presence and call for ‘co-responsibility’. The secretary painted it as a space for meeting and coexistence that deserves protection.
“From the Government of Mexico and the State Government we reaffirm our commitment,” he added, inviting people to live the holidays ‘with respect and joy’.
In the political backstage, the photo was revealing. Along with the governor, Mayor Estrella Palacios, military, naval and National Guard commanders paraded. Also prosecutors and heads of tourism and civil protection.
A staging calculated to project unity and control. In the theater of public security, each actor in his place. The public expects the spectacle on the streets to be as impeccable as the choreography of the advertisement.
