Operational on four fronts
Elements of the Ministry of the Navy, in coordination with federal and state authorities, carried out four simultaneous searches at strategic points on the coast of Chiapas. The result: four people arrested, drugs, weapons and thousands of liters of fuel seized.
The interventions were concentrated in locations used to supply criminal groups. The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the State Prosecutor’s Office and the State Police participated.
In Chocohuital, security forces seized a property with approximately 70 50-liter drums of fuel, a long weapon, chargers, satellite communication equipment and a river boat.
At the pier in that same town, four civilians were detained. More than 80 gasoline bottles, outboard motors, radio communication equipment, another long weapon and doses of cocaine were also seized.
The action extended to Playa Grande, where a collection center with about 70 drums full of hydrocarbon, dozens of empty containers, propellers, bilge pumps and spare parts for speedboat engines was dismantled.
Finally, in Paredón, the authorities located a warehouse allegedly used to store drugs. There, 50 compact packages of cocaine, more than 60 drums of gasoline and nine satellite buoys used to track shipments on the high seas were seized.
The detainees and everything secured were at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry to determine their legal situation.
