“No, it’s not true”
Thus, bluntly, President Claudia Sheinbaum settled the issue. In his conference this Tuesday he flatly denied that there is an alleged shortage of liquid in Monterrey, Nuevo León, linked to the Water Treaty with the United States.
His statement was a direct shot. “Nuevo León has no problems, in any case it is Tamaulipas,” he stated from the National Palace. It completely changed the focus of the public conversation.
“No one has been put at risk, but in particular the one who may have problems, which already has them, is Tamaulipas.”
A plot twist that shifts the concern to another state. Meanwhile, his government announces actions. Sheinbaum highlighted the historic investment in the modernization of agricultural irrigation as part of the strategy.
The question remains: if the problem is not in Nuevo León, why did the rumor persist? The official version attributes it to a confusion or misunderstanding. But in these topics, what is not said is usually as revealing as what is.
