An educational revolution that will transform the future of Mexico!
The Secretary of Public Education (SEP) has just taken a historic step by presenting the new Common Curricular Framework for high school, a project that seeks to equalize opportunities and prepare our young people for the challenges of the 21st century. This is a game changer for education in Mexico!
A common apartment to build dreams
Imagine a system where all students, regardless of their public school, receive the same foundation of essential knowledge. This is how the Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education, Tania Rodríguez, passionately explained it during the presidential morning: “For the first time we have a Common Curricular Framework that integrates key subjects for comprehensive training.”
This model, which will begin in September with the new school year, includes:
- Language and communication (to express yourself with power!)
- Mathematical thinking (the key to logical reasoning)
- Scientific culture (awakening curious minds)
- Historical awareness (to understand our past and build future)
- Basic English (opening doors to the world)
And this is just the beginning! As Rodríguez highlighted: “Young people must know that they are actors in the history of our country.” What an empowering message!
Flexibility + specialization = Guaranteed success!
The genius of this model lies in its perfect balance: while establishing a common core, it leaves flexible curricular spaces for each school to adapt content according to its local context. This is education with a human face!
For those looking to join the labor market, there will be two options:
- Basic job training (to take the first professional step)
- Extended training (with technical or technological certification)
And the best! Students will receive two certificates: one for a general high school diploma and another that will accredit their professional skills. This is preparing for real life!
Education with joy: the key to success
Secretary Mario Delgado made the spirit of this reform clear: “Young people should be happy in high school, want to go and have a good time while they learn.”. What a refreshing vision!
This is not an improvised change. It emerged from consultations with teachers and students, because true educational transformation is built from the grassroots. The objective is clear: retain young people in the classrooms by offering them a relevant and motivating experience.
The expected result? Better prepared young people, with tools for university or the world of work, but above all, with love for learning. That is investing in the future of Mexico!
