Mass resignations do not stop the electoral preparation of the Judiciary

A third of appointed citizens abandon their key role in elections, but the system remains strong.

Democracy continues despite the challenges!

Friends, today I want to talk to you about something that demonstrates the resilience of our electoral system. Just three weeks before the historic election of the Judiciary, more than 257 thousand citizens have resigned from being poll workers. Sound alarming? But here’s the good news! Each vacancy has been successfully filled, demonstrating that nothing stops the will of the people.

Why do they resign? Let’s understand the context!

According to the INE, the majority (113,927 cases) cited labor and social obligations. Another 74,281 changed their minds after accepting, and 43,030 prioritized their health. And you know what? They are all valid reasons! Life has priorities, but the incredible thing is how the system adapts. Querétaro, CDMX and Chihuahua led the substitutions (up to 51%!), but today they are at 100% capacity. That’s teamwork!

The State of Mexico, with 9,209 polling stations (90,745 officials!), is now ready. Nuevo León exceeded 43% resignations, and Chihuahua 44.8%. The result? Everyone met the goal! Up to 99.9% of those designated are in place, 97% trained and 52% practiced in drills. This is efficiency in action!

The heroes behind the scenes: trainers and supervisors

Here comes the most inspiring thing: the 21,350 trainers and 3,562 supervisors of the INE visited 13 million homes to recruit these citizens. Only 2,616 trainers and 161 supervisors resigned, and they were all replaced! Amid this effort, there were only 58 theft incidents in three months. Isn’t this a sign of commitment and bravery?

Compared to 2024 (where there were also 33% resignations), this year the process is more agile. Previous experience is paying off! Each person who said “yes” to collaborating is writing a page in our democratic history.

Final reflection: Resignations are not failures, they are opportunities for others to assume their civic power. Each replacement is a reminder that democracy is a collective effort. Let’s celebrate those who give their time for a just future!
