PACIC renewal
President Claudia Sheinbaum signed the renewal of the Package Against Inflation and High Costs (PACIC) with 32 supplier companies and self-service stores. The agreement maintains the price of the 24 products in the basic basket at 910 pesos.
“Today I celebrate, I really celebrate, this effort they are making to allow Mexican families to continue having access to products at a good price,” highlighted the president from the National Palace.
The PACIC seeks to prevent international inflation from deteriorating the family economy. Sheinbaum also thanked the gas sector for keeping magna gasoline below 24 pesos and diesel at 27 pesos, through IEPS incentives.
Support from the private sector
The Secretary of the Treasury, Édgar Amador Zamora, stressed that the signing renews the public-private commitment with Mexican households. “Mexico shows that the relationship between both sectors has positive results,” he stated.
José Medina Mora, president of the Business Coordinating Council, described the agreement as unprecedented and said that he looks after families with fewer resources. Diego Cosio Barto, from ANTAD, reaffirmed the commitment of self-service stores and thanked the working groups with the government.
Jesús Vizcarra Calderón, from Grupo SuKarne, highlighted that the measure reflects Sheinbaum’s leadership and his commitment to protecting the family economy.

The 24 items cover chicken, beef, pork and fish, eggs, milk, bread, corn flour, fruits, vegetables, sugar, pasta, vegetable oil, grains and personal cleaning items.
