Querétaro takes advantage of opportunities and aggravates the Santos Laguna crisis
The Corona Stadium was the scene of a key match on Day 15 of Clausura 2025, where Querétaro achieved a crucial victory (2-1) against Santos Laguna. This result keeps alive the aspirations of the Gallos Blancos for the Play-In, while the Guerreros deepen their crisis by remaining bottom with just seven points.
Initial dominance without reward for Santos
The La Laguna team controlled the first half and, at minute 37, opened the scoring thanks to a precise shot by Ramiro Sordo, assisted by Santiago Muñoz. However, their lead did not last long.
In the second half, Querétaro reacted with determination. Pablo Barrera, who came on at halftime, equalized in the 48th minute. The midfielder’s experience was key to balancing the actions.
Definitive goal and lagoon collapse
The decisive moment came at 82′, when Franco Russo connected a masterful header after a cross from Barrera, sealing the visitor’s victory. Santos, unable to react, wasted clear chances, including a shot by Sordo (78′) and a free kick by Franco Fagúndez (66′).
This result reflects the instability of Santos under the command of Fernando Ortiz and the resilience of a Querétaro team that is fighting not to lose relevance in the season.
