A historic blow to organized crime
Mexico is taking a giant step in the fight for justice! The Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch, confirmed that the 55 drug traffickers extradited to the United States represented a latent threat to our society. “By removing them from our territory, we nip in the bud their ability to continue harming Mexican families,” he stated firmly during the press conference. This is a collective triumph!
Crimes that shock
These individuals were not common criminals: they face accusations of kidnappings, extortion and brutal homicides. Among the most notorious are “Z-40” and “Z-42”, responsible for the cowardly murder of 17 public servants who were protecting penitentiary centers. Imagine the audacity! Even from prison, they threatened staff and coordinated their criminal networks.
Did you know that the transfer of the “Z-40” was postponed 79 times? 79 opportunities where justice was about to be hindered! But today we celebrate that, finally, the authorities’ perseverance paid off. Alejandro Gertz Manero, head of the FGR, announced that similar new operations could be carried out soon. The message is clear: zero impunity!
Keys to an unprecedented operation
This massive transfer was a precision choreography: it involved 988 elements, 12 aircraft and 90 vehicles of federal forces. Every detail, from respect for human rights to medical logistics, was impeccable. And the best: the penitentiary centers continue to operate normally, without incidents!
What happens now with these criminals?
The 26 drug traffickers sent in this last phase will face US justice for crimes such as drug trafficking, money laundering and attacks on authorities. Names such as Abigael González Valencia from “Los Cuinis” and Servando Gómez Martínez (“La Tuta”) stand out, whose networks sowed terror for years. Their era of impunity is over!
The most inspiring thing? This case shows that when institutions work in coordination with a focus on the national interest, the results transform lives. Every Mexican can feel safer today thanks to this collective effort.
