Ivorians and Norwegians meet for the first time in a decisive duel.

The activity of the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup continues this Monday with an unprecedented duel. Ivory Coast and Norway meet at Dallas Stadium for a ticket to the next round.

Historical meeting

There is no history between both teams. Neither in official matches nor in friendlies. The meeting represents the first shared chapter in the history of both federations.

Ivory Coast arrives with an unprecedented achievement: it surpassed the Group Stage in a World Cup for the first time. In previous editions, including Brazil 2014, it had not advanced to the direct elimination phase.

Norway returns to the top stage after 28 years. Their last participation was in France 1998, where they reached the Round of 16. Now he seeks to equal or improve that mark.

Recent results

Both teams have history against rivals from other continents. Norway beat an African team in the qualifying phase, while Ivory Coast lost to a European team. These results add uncertainty to the forecast.

Morocco is no longer a surprise and now demands global respect

Morocco eliminated the Netherlands and their coach assures that no one underestimates them anymore.

Morocco was no longer the revelation of the tournament. After eliminating the Netherlands in the World Cup, coach Mohamed Ouahbi stated that his team is no longer a mystery: respect was earned through years of work.

“Morocco has now earned the respect of the whole world,” said Ouahbi. “It’s not because of what we said. Now we have proven it.”

The African team took center stage. The victory against the Dutch confirmed that he is a real protagonist in major competitions.

The support of the Mexican fans

Ouahbi thanked the support received at the Monterrey Stadium. He highlighted the connection with the local fans, who encouraged Morocco during much of the duel.

“When we won the World Cup against Argentina, the entire stadium was with Morocco. The next Cup is played there, the Moroccan people will return what they gave us today. They will support you, that’s for sure,” he said.

The coach also remembered Mexico 1986 as the tournament that made him love soccer. “I remember Matthäus’ goal, I was 10 years old. I have always followed Mexico, good teams, incredible fans,” he expressed.

Tactical adjustments and next challenge

Ouahbi revealed that the initial plan changed on the fly. “I didn’t expect it to be so low because the Netherlands is a team that likes the ball. I see it as a sign of respect for Morocco’s work,” he commented.

With the ticket to the second round assured, Morocco will face Canada. Confidence grows: they are no longer the surprise, they are a team that demands respect.

Mexico seeks second round against Ecuador with the support of Aguirre

Javier Aguirre and his team arrive undefeated in the decisive duel for passage to the round of 16.

The Mexican National Team defines tonight its pass to the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup against Ecuador. With the support of Javier Aguirre and a streak of 11 games without defeat, Tricolor seeks to make history at the Mexico City Stadium.

Aguirre: optimism and caution

The tricolor helmsman was cautious but confident. “I am cautious, I have experience, I have already had many battles, won and lost, and in that sense I am not the one to prevent anyone from dreaming, that is true, and I let them dream and give themselves on the field as they have done until now,” he stated.

He added: “For me personally, talking to my players is always interesting to know what is going on in their heads, what they think, and the common denominator is optimism.”

The Aztec team arrives with 11 consecutive games without knowing defeat, just two goals against throughout the year and an enthusiasm that has not been seen in the country for a long time. “Since we embraced this profession, we understand that it is success or failure, there is never a middle ground. There is only one champion, the others failed,” Aguirre emphasized.

The duel will define the future of the team. The three victories in the group stage no longer count. Staying in the competition is what the fans ask for, and the strategist knows it.

The match will be played this Tuesday, June 30 at 7:00 p.m. The broadcast will be carried out by Channel 5, TUDN, Azteca 7 and ViX Pase Mundial.
