A public complaint shakes Guadalajara
The streets of Guadalajara witnessed an act of bravery today, when an anonymous tarp appeared on a pedestrian bridge near Avenida Vallarta and Periférico. This message, addressed to the Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch, revealed alleged identities of members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) linked to the Izaguirre ranch case. Although the authorship remains a mystery, the content has raised alarms about the network of criminal operations in the region.
The names behind the poster
The complaint pointed out Gerardo Botello Rosales, alias “El Cachas”, and his sister Yadira Botello Rosales, as key figures in this network. According to the text, Yadira was in charge of administering resources to people deprived of their liberty at the ranch, while other hitmen, such as Marcos “El Sobrino” and Gustavo Botello, executed those who tried to escape. In addition, it was mentioned that “El Cachas” used gas stations in Guadalajara to launder money and recruited victims at the Nueva Bus Station.
But this is not all: the canvas also revealed unpublished information about “El Cachas”, such as his release from prison in June 2023 and his criminal history, which includes homicides, kidnappings and extortion. It was even highlighted that he had an extradition order to the United States for a crime committed in 2002. How did you get to this point? According to federal reports, he began stealing hydrocarbons in Guanajuato in 2006 and, by 2016, he was already a regional head of the CJNG.
A dark past and powerful connections
Journalistic records link “El Cachas” with Rosalinda González Valencia, mother of the children of “El Mencho”, leader of the CJNG. During his capture in 2018, he was identified as one of the main cartel operators in Guanajuato and Michoacán. Authorities held him responsible for multiple homicides against police officers and rivals, cementing his reputation as a lethal actor in organized crime.
Today, that same figure is once again in the eye of the hurricane. The tarp included photographs of him and his sister, and according to witnesses, it was placed by two subjects who fled in a taxi. Who are they? What motivated you to act? The questions remain open, but one thing is clear: this act of citizen complaint has put crucial information on the table for investigations.
Can you imagine the courage it takes to challenge a group like the CJNG? This banner not only exposes names, but challenges impunity.
