Loneliness as a starting point

Peter Parker sacrificed everything to save the world, but now he must bear the consequences. In Spider-Man: A New Day, the hero faces a life marked by loneliness, according to Tom Holland during the film’s presentation in Mexico City.

The British actor attended the fan event held in Aztlán Parque Urbano. He explained that the fourth installment could not ignore the outcome of No Way Home, when Peter erased his identity from everyone’s memory to protect his loved ones.

“The most important thing was not to run away from the consequences of the previous movie. Peter made a huge sacrifice and now he lives with it. It’s painful because we all want him to have the things that any human being deserves. But now he’s facing all of that completely alone.”

Night of rain and ovation

Minutes before Holland arrived, the place was already packed. The intense rain did not disperse the hundreds of fans waiting for the Marvel superhero.

The actor did not arrive alone. He was accompanied by Zendaya, his wife and co-star, and director Destin Daniel Cretton. They were received with cheers, whistles and applause. Zendaya even danced to the song “Zendaya, sister, you’re already Mexican!”

Holland thanked the capital’s fans for their energy: “Thank you, this means the world to us. You have been so incredible. Thank you for your love, for your warm welcome, for being great people and loving our movies so much.”

After mingling with attendees and posing for official photos, the cast said goodbye to applause. The visit began the countdown to the premiere of Spider-Man: A New Day, scheduled for July 29.

A young promise of cinema

Kaylee Hottle, the actress who played Jia in the two installments of Godzilla vs Kong, died at the age of 18 after a road accident in Maryland. Her father, Joshua Hottle, confirmed the news to TMZ after traveling from Texas to claim the body.

The accident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, July 21. Joshua learned of the incident while Kaylee was being taken to the hospital, but his heart couldn’t resist. The authorities informed him of the death later.

A career marked by inclusion

Kaylee debuted at age nine with a commercial for a messaging app created for people with hearing disabilities. She and her father were deaf, and much of her family belongs to the deaf community. In the Godzilla vs Kong saga (2021 and 2024), he gave life to Jia, who communicates with the monster using sign language. Jia lives on Skull Island along with Dr. Ilene Andrews, played by Rebecca Hall.

In an interview with Young Entertainment last April, Kaylee spoke about the challenges of playing Jia:

“I think the most challenging part is patience. There are so many things that require a lot of patience, there is a lot of waiting and a lot of repetition. I had to realize that it was something I had to accept if I wanted to continue bringing this character to life.”

His departure leaves a void in the industry and among his fans, who will remember his talent and his legacy of representation for the deaf community.

Gerard Piqué did not miss the 2026 World Cup final. The former Spanish soccer player attended the New York New Jersey Stadium accompanied by his children, Milan and Sasha, the result of his relationship with Shakira.

Sasha chanted her mother’s success

Before the start of the match, Sasha, 11, was caught excited when listening to “Dai dai,” the official song of the tournament performed by Shakira. The minor began to sing the lyrics from his seat. However, Piqué kept his eyes fixed on the side of the stadium, showing no reaction.

Shakira performed at the halftime show. During the match, the Colombian singer was seen in a box with actress Anya Taylor-Joy, of Argentine origin. At the moment Ferran Torres scored the goal that gave Spain the victory, Shakira remained hermetic.

Hours later, the Barranquilla native celebrated the Spanish championship on social media, but also dedicated a special message to Argentina and Lionel Messi, whom she described as “the greatest.”
