Housing goal in Zacatecas skyrockets after official announcement
Infonavit and Conavi delivered 45 homes in Zacatecas. But the real headline is something else: the construction goal for the state jumped from 18,000 to 26,000 homes. An increase of 44% that arrives via virtual link in the morning.
Edna Vega Rangel, head of Sedatu, announced it. Of those 26 thousand, 14 thousand will be from Infonavit and 12 thousand from Conavi. Claudia Sheinbaum, for her part, repeated the great six-year promise: one million 800 thousand homes for all of Mexico.
The figures behind the speech
Vega Rangel explained that in Zacatecas there is 21% progress in agreements. According to her, this translates into an approximate investment of 15.6 billion pesos. The promise includes 78 thousand direct jobs and 117 thousand indirect jobs, benefiting more than 93 thousand people.
“In addition to this there are the 6 thousand titling actions, regularization of land inheritance by the IMSS and other actions such as the forgiveness of debts…”, explained the official.
Octavio Romero Oropeza, director of Infonavit, provided the historical touch. He recalled that ten months ago Sheinbaum laid the first stone of the Ojo de Agua subdivision, with 208 homes. Today they delivered four.
“Here in Zacatecas, president, thanks to the support of Governor David Monreal… we have advanced rapidly and we have already started on four complexes that represent more than 3 thousand homes,” he indicated.
Billions, tens of thousands of jobs, hundreds of thousands of homes. The figures are always round and impressive from the podium. The reality on the ground, that which lives with leaks and waits for the title, usually has grayer numbers.
