Finding of victims with signs of extreme violence
In the early hours of Friday, residents of the area at the junction to Chametla, in the municipality of Rosario, Sinaloa, reported the discovery of two bodies inside an abandoned container. The victims, an unidentified man and woman, had mutilations and decapitation, as confirmed by official sources.
Coordinated operation and initial expert reports
Authorities of the State Attorney General’s Office, along with elements of the National Guard and municipal police, cordoned off the area to carry out forensic analysis. A piece of cardboard with a message was found next to the remains, the contents of which are being kept confidential as part of the investigation. Initial hypotheses point to a possible settling of scores linked to organized crime, given the violent nature of the event.
This event adds to the incidents of drug violence recorded in the region, where similar methods have been used as intimidating messages. The authorities reinforced surveillance on the Mexico-Nogales highway, a strategic axis for the trafficking of illegal goods.
