An order that arrives after a long time
Gaby Platas has just confirmed something that her followers have suspected for a while: she already has permanent legal protection against her ex-husband, actor Paco de la O. This comes after he tried to contact her again.
The history between them is long and complicated. They married in 2009, divorced in 2018, and throughout that decade Gaby has spoken openly about the violent environments she experienced. It talks about prohibited substances, infidelities and, most seriously, assaults.
“You get used to bad things, you don’t realize it until things really become very bad,”
He confessed in a past interview. But in a recent talk with ‘Ventaneando’ she was more specific and forceful.
“Yes he did, there were death threats, eight years have passed since this; I am already protected, armored, today I am not afraid.”
Public gratitude and the call to act
Through her social networks, Platas not only broke the news, but thanked the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office for listening to her and acting. His message is clear and he seeks to help other people.
“For a few days now I have had a permanent restraining order against my attacker. It is terrible how we can spend so many years with a person out of fear. Thanks to @FiscaliaCDMX. If you experience violence REPORT.”
This type of order is crucial: it protects victims by restricting any physical contact or communication by the abuser.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Paco de la O published on his Instagram that he will soon give ‘his truth’ about the facts. The phrase was ambiguous: “Soon through my glasses the truth, mine.”
This case occurs in a context where other actresses have raised their voices. A few weeks ago, Malu Carreras also reported having suffered physical and psychological violence from the same actor. The conversation, it seems, is just beginning.
