Alleged perpetrators of robbery at a convenience store captured
A coordinated operation between the Secretary of Citizen Security and the Command and Control Center (C2) allowed the arrest of three men and a woman accused of assaulting a commercial establishment in the Coyoacán mayor’s office. The events occurred in the Pedregal de Santa Úrsula neighborhood, where those involved stole merchandise and money under threat of a firearm.
Details of the police operation
According to the official report, the suspects entered the premises located at Santa Úrsula Avenue and San Gabino Street, where they intimidated the owner with a gun to take five bottles of liquor, packs of cigarettes and cash. The rapid activation of the virtual fence through the video surveillance system made it possible to track his escape in a white vehicle.
The C2 monitors identified the escape route along the Calzada México-Xochimilco, coordinating with ground units that intercepted the car near Calzada de Tlalpan. During the review, they made sure:
- The weapon used in the robbery (with six cartridges)
- The stolen money
- Stolen products
The effectiveness of the protocol demonstrated the importance of technological integration in public security tasks. Strategically placed cameras provided key images for real-time identification and tracking.
Legal process and preventive measures
The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry to determine criminal responsibilities. Authorities recommend merchants:
- Keep video surveillance systems updated
- Register serials of high value products
- Immediately report incidents to 911
This case highlights how citizen collaboration and police intelligence can optimize response times to crimes with social impact.
