BANDERILLA, Ver.- The Fire substation located in the municipality of Banderilla is now fully operational, which will significantly improve emergency response times in this area and surrounding municipalities, reported the first commander of the Xalapa Fire Department, José Luis Acosta Hernández.
In an interview, the commander explained that the agreement with the Banderilla City Council was concluded in a favorable manner for the citizens, so the substation was activated on December 31 and began to operate formally as of January 1. He added that the council provided support in the personnel assignment process, which allowed the service to be launched appropriately.
Acosta Hernández stressed that the opening of this base represents a direct benefit for the population, since the distance factor is decisive in responding to fires, accidents and other emergency situations. He pointed out that previously traffic and distance complicated a timely response, so now, by bringing the service closer, faster and more effective care is achieved to safeguard people’s lives and property.
He specified that, although it is identified as supporting the North Substation, the Banderilla base operates independently and currently has a truck and assigned personnel, installed in the modules where the Civil Police was previously located. In case of larger emergencies, the central station or the corresponding substation will provide the necessary backup; However, he highlighted that the main advantage is that the first response is already in the area.
The commander highlighted that this substation will considerably reduce service times in communities such as El Tronconal, Chiltoyac and areas near Naolinco, where previously the transfer from Xalapa could take considerably longer.
Likewise, he announced that there are talks with mayors of municipalities in the region to expand the coverage of the fire service. Among the projects under analysis is the possible installation of a substation in Almolonga, which would be of great benefit due to the complex geography of the area and the fact that the transfer from Xalapa can take up to two hours in traffic conditions. With a nearby base, arrival times at an accident would be reduced to between 10 and 15 minutes, in addition to reducing the wear and tear of units and personnel.
Likewise, he reported that a meeting was recently held with authorities from Dos Ríos, where there is interest in joining the collaboration scheme or even activating a fire substation in that region.
Finally, José Luis Acosta Hernández highlighted that with the start of the new municipal administrations there has been a positive response and a good willingness to work in a coordinated manner. In the case of Xalapa, he stated that the relationship with the mayor has been excellent, with constant work tables and direct support to coordinate actions with areas such as Urban Development and Environment in the event of any contingency.
He reiterated that the Xalapa Fire Department remains available 24 hours a day to attend to emergencies, as well as to provide prevention talks, facility reviews and guidance to citizens, in compliance with the provisions of the new Firefighters Law.

Overshadowing the “Recycled” and “Suspirants”
The phenomenon of Delia González Cobos is sending a direct message to the internal groups of MORENA and the opposition. Its possible opaque incursion into figures that the collective imagination already classifies as “recycled“:
The fed-up block: Names like Ana Miriam Ferráez, Doreny Cayetano or Rosalinda Galindo seem to have exhausted their political capital in the face of a citizenry that demands new faces and greater preparation.
The new weightless faces:* On the other hand, the “suspirants” like Tato Yunes, Toño Ballesteros or the young Vale Moctezuma, although they are looking for spaces, lack the technical fang and administrative career that a capital with structural problems of infrastructure and services demands today.
The Call: The Natural Relief of Ricardo Ahued
It is undeniable that the Secretary of Government, *Ricardo Ahued Bardahuil*, is the great reference for Xalapa. However, Ahued’s leadership has always been based on honesty and administrative efficiency. When looking for someone to hand over the baton of that “Hero of MORENA”, the figure of Delia González Cobos appears as the most faithful mirror.
She fits the vision of Governor Rocío Nahle: profiles of prepared, operational women with a firm hand. Delia is not a “finger-raising” politician in Congress; She is a specialist who knows how to make the resource reach the most needy neighborhoods through impeccable management.
Conclusion: If MORENA wants to increase that 29% participation and regain the trust of the Xalapeños, it needs to stop recycling candidates and start proposing State profiles. The Mrs. Delia González Cobos is not only dressing up for 2027; It seems to be the perfect seam to mend the relationship between the party and the citizens of the capital.
