Elías Medina not only performs, he also writes the hymns that define contemporary Mexican regional music. This Friday, July 31, the singer-songwriter originally from Monterrey will appear at the Reynosa Lions Club to offer a concert that will span his career.
Two decades of compositions
With 20 years of experience, Medina has built a catalog that includes songs for groups such as Grupo Pesado, Grupo Firme, Invasores de Nuevo León, Leandro Ríos and Los Rieleros del Norte. He has also written for Bronco and El Duelo. His style is characterized by lyrics that tell everyday stories and connect with the public.
The artist began at the age of 15 singing in bars and cantinas in Monterrey while working to pay for his studies. That discipline led him to become one of the most sought-after composers of the genre.
An evening with the best of their repertoire
Under the concept of “The New Classic of Mexican Music”, Medina will perform both his hits as a soloist and those he wrote for other performers. The event is this Friday at the Reynosa Lions Club, an opportunity to listen live to one of the most prolific artists in current Mexican music.
