Pre-sale for BTS was a digital battlefield
First, a victory. After the ARMY fandom demanded transparency from OCESA regarding ticket prices for BTS concerts in Mexico, the company relented. They published an official list with the amounts. A historic achievement for any fan community.
But then the pre-sale arrived this Friday. And friends, it was a meme-worthy disaster.
Ticketmaster became the villain of the story
The platform collapsed. The virtual lines were eternal and the technical failures were constant. Tickets sold out in about 75 minutes, but the journey was full of frustration.
The worst: OCESA had promised that prices would not change during the sale. But the ARMYS reported that that agreement… well, it was not followed to the letter.
While the official site failed, tickets appeared on resale sites at stratospheric prices. A classic play that chills the blood of any fan.
The ARMY fandom sent each other messages of support on social networks.
The community stood together, sharing advice and encouragement. But in the end, the sadness among those who did not get their golden pass was palpable. It’s the less glamorous side of K-pop: the fight against systems that don’t work.
The general sale is still scheduled for this Saturday from 9:00 AM. Get ready for another round on this emotional roller coaster. Because supporting your favorite artists should never be this difficult.
