Dylan Coronel hits a home run against sadness
Forget about romantic lounging for a moment. Dylan Coronel just changed his bat and hit an unexpected musical hit. His new song, “Se va se va,” doesn’t talk about broken hearts, but about strikeouts and bases.
The Tamaulipas singer defines it as his first ‘baseball cumbia’. A mix that, let’s face it, no one saw coming. After making a name for himself in other styles, he launched into collaboration with fellow performer 8Uno to tell this story.
“Together we tell the story, the metaphor of an amateur baseball player, but to the rhythm of cumbia,” explains Coronel.
The funny thing is that success took him by surprise. He himself acknowledges that they broke the mold.
“I didn’t expect this good acceptance because we broke the barriers of the themes of heartbreak, with a song that sounds more like the movements that Rigo Tovar did,” he confesses. For him, it is a melody of improvement, both on the court and in life.
From the diamond to the studio: what’s next?
The good vibes of the public are not just one more like on social networks. For Dylan, it marks a before and after. It gives you the green light to explore without fear.
And boy does he have plans. The cumbia was only the first inning.
“This motivates us to venture into the urban genre, why not, to do something in reggaeton,” he advances with enthusiasm. “The fans are the ones who have the guideline and will show me the way.”
His mind is already on the next play. After the cumbia, think about adding some Afro beats to a future song. It seems like this musical ballplayer is just warming up.
