Morocco defeats Haiti and advances in the World Cup

Morocco came back twice and beat Haiti 4-2 to advance to the round of 32.

Victory with comeback against Haiti

Morocco made it to the round of 32 of the World Cup by beating Haiti 4-2 in a two-legged match. The Atlas Lions showed forcefulness to overcome a rival who, despite being eliminated, put up a fight.

Haiti surprised early. At minute 10, Lenny Joseph opened the scoring and put the Caribbean team ahead. The Haitian fans celebrated with emotion, aware that their team no longer had any chance of advancing.

South Africa surprises South Korea in Monterrey

South Africa beats South Korea 1-0 and places second in Group A.

South Africa achieves key victory

A goal from Thapelo Maseko silenced the Monterrey stadium and gave South Africa a 1-0 victory over South Korea. The result moves the African team to second place in Group A.

South Korea came in as favorites, but never found their rhythm. The South Africans responded with intensity and speed in each attack. At minute 19 they were close to opening the scoring, and before the break they created danger again.

The second half began with the entry of Son Heung-Min, who unleashed a roar from the fans. However, the game remained without great emotions until the 63rd minute.

That’s when the key moment arrived. Tshepang Moremi led a perfect counterattack and gave way to Maseko, who calmly scored into the back of the net. From the stands the “Yes we can!” was heard, lent by the Mexican fans to accompany the South African resistance.

South Korea tried to react, but could not equalize. The Asian team remained in third position in the sector, forced to win their next matches to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Switzerland defeats Canada and seals its place in the round of 16

Eleven minutes later, Jonathan Manzambi extended the Swiss lead in the 57th minute. Canada reacted with a goal from Promise David in the 76th minute, but did not achieve the tie.

With this result, Switzerland secures its place in the round of 16. The European team showed defensive solidity and offensive effectiveness to stay at the top of the group. For its part, Canada also advanced to the next round, a significant achievement for the North American team.

The group stage of the tournament continues to define the qualifiers. Switzerland and Canada join the list of teams that will seek the title in the knockout round.
