A feline with a World Cup spirit
Coco, one of the cats that lives in the National Palace, was captured wearing the Mexican National Team shirt. The symbolic gesture occurs during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when the national team competes in the tournament.
A video broadcast on social networks by the Government of Mexico shows the feline walking through the gardens of the historic site. The green Tri shirt shines on his fur, in the midst of the celebration for the recent results of the national team.
A long-standing program
According to the official publication, Coco is one of the nearly 20 cats that have lived inside the National Palace for several years. The federal administration promotes an animal protection program that takes care of them and allows them to roam around the facility.
The image of the cat with the national colors quickly went viral. It reflects the atmosphere of support that surrounds Mexico’s participation in the World Cup.
