Criticism or just noise? Christian Chávez’s Brazilian journey
Former RBD Christian Chávez was in Brazil last week. Not only to sing, but to light up the networks with debates about his image and an idea that many consider… well, quite optimistic.
His tour “Para Siempre Tour” started with a full house in Fortaleza. Brazilian fans have always been devoted to RBD, that’s not news. What did go viral were the comments about his appearance.
After the show, several followers thought that the singer had “relaxed his body too much.” They compared their current physique with that of years ago, in an echo of what Maite Perroni experienced a while ago.
“I mean, he can do whatever he wants and dress however he wants, but he doesn’t look good, does he?” one comment read.
Another was more direct: “It’s Christian Chávez or The Nutcracker… it’s been very neglected.”
As expected, others came to his defense. The classic battle of the networks: the right to look how you want vs. unsolicited opinion.
But here comes the second part. In the middle of this, Christian dropped another bomb: he wants to reunite RBD for the Brazilian Carnival in 2027.
He said he believed that Maite, Christopher and perhaps Dulce María could join. The reaction was immediate.
“It’s very funny when they try to delete Anahí, as if she weren’t 99% of RBD,” noted a fan, sticking his finger in the sore spot of the eternal debate about the band.
So there you have it. A trip with full houses, controversy over a few kilos (too much? too little? who cares?), and a dream reunion that already has everyone talking. The eternal cycle of pop.
