The last act before the big show
There are exactly 100 days until the 2026 World Cup starts, and there are still tickets to be distributed. I’m not talking about the seats in the stadium, but about the passes to the most important tournament on the planet. And this month, Mexico will be the setting where that last page is written.
The international playoffs will be played in Monterrey and Guadalajara. Two Mexican cities will be the backdrop where four countries will fight for just two places in the big party. It is the last call before the curtain closes.
And here comes the good news for the fan: the prices are a respite. Nothing to do with the stratospheric costs that we already see for the World Cup matches in June.
How much does it cost to see this last battle?
For the first matches, tickets are 200 pesos. For the finals, where it will be decided who travels to North America, the price rises to 300 pesos. It’s almost a gift compared to what comes next.
In Guadalajara, the Akron stadium will host Jamaica, New Caledonia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Jamaicans and New Caledonians will clash first. The winner will face the Congolese in an all-or-nothing final.
Meanwhile, in Monterrey, the Steel Giant (BBVA) will see Bolivia, Suriname and Iraq parade. The dynamic is the same: Bolivians against Surinamese first, and the winner will face the Iraqis.
The first matches will be played on Thursday, March 26. The finals will be on Tuesday, March 31.
If you want to witness this final drama, tickets are available directly on the official FIFA Tickets portal. It’s your chance to see history live, without having to empty your wallet.
My father always said that passion is priceless. But in this case, for a few hundred pesos, you can buy a piece of the World Cup dream.
