Bobby J. Brown, actor of The Wire, dies in fire

The 'The Wire' actor died at the age of 62 in a tragic accident on his property. His wife was seriously injured trying to save him.

Goodbye to a Baltimore face

Hollywood is quieter today. Bobby J. Brown, that actor who put a face to the streets of Baltimore in “The Wire”, is gone. He was 62 years old and had a death as absurd as it was tragic.

It all happened on Tuesday at his property in Maryland. According to what his daughter told TMZ, Bobby went into the barn to start a vintage Cadillac. Something went wrong.

“He called for a fire extinguisher, but when they arrived, the place was already a ball of fire,” the family said.

The chaos that followed is heartbreaking. His wife tried to go in to rescue him. He didn’t make it and ended up with third-degree burns, now in intensive care.

The coroner’s office confirmed the worst: Bobby died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. It was fast.

“The smoke invaded his lungs before he felt the flames,” his loved ones explained.

TMZ even published the 911 audio. His wife’s desperate voice can be heard asking for help while hell burned down.

More than a name in the credits

For many, Bobby J. Brown was that guy with a familiar face from “The Wire”, “Law & Order: SVU” and the recent “We Own This City”. For his family, it was everything.

Now they ask for privacy while they prepare their farewell. The world of entertainment loses one of those solid actors, those who build credible characters without needing to be the protagonist.

Rest in peace, Bobby. Baltimore will remember you.

Influencer criticized for chocolate in honor of Oliver Tree after fatal accident

Controversy over TikToker chocolate after the death of Oliver Tree in a plane crash.

The death of the American singer Oliver Tree, which occurred on June 14 in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, unleashed a wave of tributes among his followers. Five other people died with him, including the Argentine content creator Gaspar Prim Díaz (Gaspi) and the filmmaker Lucas Vignale.

Fans from all over the world shared drawings, songs and animations. However, a video by the Spanish Carolina del Carmen Monclús, known on TikTok as “Mujer de Buena Pasta”, caused a strong controversy.

Chocolate in the midst of mourning

The 25-year-old made a chocolate bar with blue, yellow and red icing, decorated with a sleeping bear, to honor the musician. It used a similar technique to Dubai chocolates: thick cocoa base filled with pistachio cream and kataifi dough.

The clip reached 25 million views, but far from moving, it received massive criticism. Many users described the gesture as disrespectful and an attempt to monetize a tragedy.

“Super unnecessary.”
“Everyone only named him because of his fame and not when he was alive.”
“A little empathy, you are just trying to generate with a topic that is sensitive for many.”

The creator’s response

Given the wave of rejection, Monclús published a clarification on TikTok. He explained that he decided to make a chocolate because it is what he does best, and that his intention was to pay a sincere tribute to a person he admires.

“I am a human being who makes mistakes,” he said. Despite his apologies, the debate about the limits between genuine grief and seeking attention on networks remains open.
