The talk is over, the judicial drama begins
It seems like this isn’t going to be resolved with an apology call and a coffee. Court-ordered negotiations between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have fallen apart. So get ready, because what’s coming is a trial with all the trappings.
Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s lawyer, was in charge of breaking the news this Wednesday in Manhattan. He said attempts to reach an agreement had been “unsuccessful.” Come on, a total failure.
“There’s always a possibility” of a fix, Freedman admitted, but his tone was more pessimistic than reviews of a straight-to-streaming movie.
The funny thing is that this was the first time that Lively and Baldoni, co-stars of It Ends With Us, saw each other in a courtroom since this mess began. They left court at 1 PM Pacific Time after a private session with Judge Sarah L. Cave.
And be careful, because the issue is not small. Lively’s initial lawsuit now totals $550 million. The actress accuses Baldoni not only of the alleged main incident, but also of orchestrating a campaign against her on social networks in the middle of last year.
So there you have it. From filming scenes of passionate love to facing each other in court. Hollywood never disappoints with its scripts.
